Revolution Will Be Completely Unveiled In A Mere 165 Days

Mail has been going around with the following message:

”You’re probably just starting to plan your time for 2006. With a mere 165 days to go (give or take), it’s time to start thinking about next year’s E3. Nintendo is most certainly thinking about it. So pencil us in. You’ll hear all the incredible details about Nintendo’s upcoming games and hardware, including our next home console, code-named Revolution. You won’t want to miss it. See you there.

WHAT: Nintendo’s E3 Media Briefing

WHEN: Briefing begins at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2006.
WHERE: Kodak Theatre (home of the Academy Awards), Hollywood & Highland Center, 6801 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90028

WHY: You know why.”

The mail has been confirmed to be real, so that means we have to wait 165 days until we finally know everything! I'm sure there will be the small update here and there, but didn't say say back at like E3 this year that everything would be known by the end of 05? It's great to have confirmation that everything will be known then, but hopefully there will be some good information in March at the GDC. Perhaps the name? With a full unveiling at the next E3, this means a couple of things. With Microsoft done unveiling the 360, and a lot of the PS3 supposevly known so far, Nintendo will completely own next years E3, especially if they show off a remodeled DS as well. Unfortunately, this means that there will be no Q1 2006 release of Revolution, so there goes all of the March speculation.

Hi, Whats your opinion about Nintendo's move choosing not to add HD-support in there upcoming console ? Do you think it will matter in next gen gaming ? And have you heard anything about the DS possibly syncing up with the Revolution ?

Thanks.

I personally think leaving HD out wasn't a bad idea. Sure having HD is nice, especially cause I have an HD TV, but the price matters a lot. Just like last gen, not too many people 4 years ago with the cube had cable internet. well now not too many people have HD TVs. You can still have amazing graphics with 480p. DS and Rev sync? It's almost guaranteed. They pushed GBA-GCN connectivity, and now DS has wifi, Rev has wifi, so its a given.
