Following Revolution Insider: Nintendo's Next Lie: Twilight Princess?

We have heard Nintendo lie to us before, most recently with their statement of "we are not planning to remake the Nintendo DS anytime soon," and then they show off the DS Lite about a week later. We have heard Satoru Iwata say over and over that Twilight Princess will be for the GameCube, but are we so sure about that now? I have very close relations with my local EB Games, and one of the employees there personally knows a Nintendo Rep and recently talked to him the other day. I am not making this up at all, I'm only here to post real information I have heard, and not start rumors. It is now being heard that Twilight Princess could be delayed even until August of this year, and he quoted that "I have heard plenty of things around the office that Twilight Princess will be delayed until the launch of the Revolution, and be a launch title for it." He went onto further emphasize that if happened, Twilight Princess would not be a GameCube game, and not compatible with a GameCube. I was skeptical at first hearing of how Iwata has said that it would be a GameCube game, although after the DS Lite unveiling, right after saying there wouldn't be one. Then again, the words of the Nintendo Rep contact to EB Games hasn't been wrong before, and it is an official source. Why would Twilight Princess be delayed so long though? It was supposed to be released back in October, and at first even earlier. They even had a playable demo of multiple levels back in May of 2005. If they had gained so much progress that long ago, they could have easily released it by now. Even when they pushed it back to December 2nd of 2005 release, it could have been for GameCube then, but now it's set for just a "later" release. They have no clue when it will be released, but then again, they have no clue when the Revolution will be released. If they are shooting for having the best Zelda game ever made, putting it on the Revolution and having the new control style can only make it better. Nintendo needs some big hits for the Revolution if they want it to sell amazingly, and if they had a hit Zelda game at launch, along with games such as Metroid Prime 3, Mario Revolution (128), and Super Smash Bros. 3, there would be no doubt that the Revolution would have the most amazing launch of any game system in history.

The Following Revolution Podcast Challenge

All right everyone, no one has heard episode 6 yet of the podcast, but it is recorded and should be up tomorrow, but I'll yet ya in on the podcast challenge of the week so you can start your entries. Now we have all seen the mockups of what the Revolution interface might be, so your assignment is to make your own mockup! What do you think the whole menu system or interface will look like? Either make a picture or two, or go the extra mile with a video or flash menu system. It's up to you. The hosts of the podcast will also be competing, so watch out! I'm not completely sure how we'll determine winners yet, either we'll judge them anonymously, or maybe a poll on the blog. We'll find a way. Get your entries in by next Saturday, February 4th. Good luck to all!
